Valvula antiretroactiva est valvula "automatica" quae aperitur ad fluxum deorsum et clauditur ad fluxum contrarium. Aperitur valvula pressione medii in systemate, clauditur autem cum medium retrorsum fluit. Operatio variat secundum genus mechanismi valvulae antiretroactivae. Genera valvulae antiretroactivae frequentissima sunt oscillantia, elevatoria (obturaculum et pilam), papilionis, antiretroactiva, et disci inclinabilis. Producta late adhibentur in systematibus fistularum petrolei, chemicis, pharmaceuticis, stercoribus chemicis, energia electrica, constructione urbana, aliisque industriis.

Valvae antiretroactivae in tres genera dividi possunt: valvae antiretroactivae elevatoriae, valvae antiretroactivae oscillatoriae, et valvae antiretroactivae papilionis. Valvae antiretroactivae elevatoriae in verticales et rectas dividi possunt, duabus. Valvae antiretroactivae oscillatoriae in valvas simplices, valvas duplices, et valvas multiplices dividitur, tribus generibus. Valvae antiretroactivae papilionis in valvas duplices papilionis, valvas simplices papilionis dividi possunt. Hae variae formae valvae antiretroactivae, quater in formam connexionis filorum, valvarum flangarum, valvarum soldadurae, et valvarum fibulae, dividi possunt.
