Valva sphaerica manualis cum flangibus praecipue ad medium intercludendum vel per eum transitum faciendum adhibetur, sed etiam ad fluidorum regulationem et moderationem adhiberi potest. Comparata cum aliis valvis, valvae sphaericae sequentia commoda habent:
1, resistentia fluidi parva est, valvula sphaerica una ex minimis resistentiis fluidi inter omnes valvulas habet, etiamsi valvula sphaerica diametro reducto est, resistentia fluidi eius satis parva est.
2, commutatio est celeris et commoda, dummodo caulis 90° rotetur, valvula globosa actionem plene apertam vel plene clausam perficiet, facile est celerem aperitionem et clausuram consequi.
3, bona obsignatio. Anulus obsignans sedis valvae sphaericae plerumque ex polytetrafluoroaethyleno aliisque materiis elasticis factus est, facile obsignationem curat, et vis obsignans valvae sphaericae cum crescente pressione medii crescit.
4, obsignatio caulis valvae certa est. Cum valva sphaerica aperitur et clauditur, caulis valvae solum rotatur, ita obsignatio impletionis caulis valvae non facile destruitur, et vis obsignationis obsignationis inversae caulis valvae cum augmentatione pressionis medii crescit.
5. Aperitio et clausio valvae sphaericae tantum 90° rotationem faciunt, ita facile est imperium automaticum et imperium remotum consequi. Valva sphaerica configurari potest cum instrumento pneumatico, instrumento electrico, instrumento hydraulico, instrumento nexus gas-liquidi, vel instrumento nexus electro-hydraulici.
6, canalis valvae sphaericae levis est, non facile medium deponi potest, pila in fistula deponi potest.
